Broncos Opener Preview

The Broncos open their season on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars . I believe that the Broncos will win this game, because of multiple reasons. This is my opinion on why they'll win. This is Josh McDaniels' second year with the Denver Broncos, and I'm expecting to see some great things this year out of the team. Let's start with the defense. Last year, in the final game, we allowed Chiefs runningback Jamaal Charles over 250 yards rushing. That was because of the defensive line. This year, we have bigger, stronger, and just better overall guys like Jamal Williams, Justin Bannan, and Ryan McBean. McBean played last year, but has improved. I think the D-line will control the opponent's offensive line this year. The linebackers are also improved. The 2009 NFL sack-leader, outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil, is out for the season with a torn Pectoral muscle. Although that is a big loss to the team, outside linebackers Robert Ayers, Jarvis Moss, and Jason Hunter are all stepping up to fill that role. As for the inside linebackers, D.J. Williams, Mario Haggan, and Joe Mays, all are excelling in making big tackles. Our secondary is probably the best part of a good defense. It consists of Champ Bailey, Andre Goodman, Perrish Cox, Nate Jones, Syd'Quan Thompson, and Cassius Vaughn at cornerback. A good mix of youth and experience. At safety, we have Brian Dawkins, Renaldo Hill, and David Bruton. All of these players in the secondary are bound to make big plays at some point. They are all very talented.

On the offense, Tim Tebow will see some time in Jacksonville and early in the season, in wildcat and short yardage situations. I believe Kyle Orton has the potential to have over 4000 yards passing this year. This is mostly based on the wide receiver corps he has; Jabar Gaffney, Brandon Lloyd, Eddie Royal, Demaryius Thomas, Matthew Willis, and Eric Decker. They all have great talent, being able to get open, and then making the catch. Our runningbacks, Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter, are coming back from injuries and I believe will be very productive. My best guess is 1800 yards combined for both of these great runningbacks. Our offensive line is developing, with two great bookends on either side of the line. From left tackle to right tackle, it goes: Ryan Clady, Stanley Daniels, J.D. Walton, Chris Kuper, and Ryan Harris. Harris is injured, but will come back soon. His backup is Zane Beadles, one of our draft picks. At tight end, we have Daniel Graham, Dan Gronkowski, and Richard Quinn, who are developing into good tight ends. Our team captains are: Kyle Orton, Chris Kuper, and Daniel Graham for offensive captains. Defensive captains are Brian Dawkins, Champ Bailey, and D.J. Williams. Our special teams captain is Wesley Woodyard.

I have good feelings about the Denver Broncos this year. I believe they will go 10-6, winning the division. I hope it is true this year. Go Broncos!

Bobby's Back!

I'm back! It's been a long offseason. Sorry I haven't posted in so long. I have some news about LenDale White; he's out for the season with a ruptured/torn Achilles tendon. The Broncos are now thin at Runningback for the 2010 season. Knowshon Moreno, the starter, strained his hamstring on the first day of Training Camp, August 1, and came back to practice on the last day of August. He did not play in the preseason finale against the Minnesota Vikings, while his teammate, Correll Buckhalter, played, and finished with three carries for three yards and two receptions for twenty-six yards. Lance Ball and Bruce Hall are the other backs, and are expected to make the roster.

People need to tell these guys to stop hurting themselves, don't they?
